Tiny ERP
Belgian Fabien Pinckaers, founder and current CEO of Odoo, began developing his first software product called TinyERP in 2005.
Open ERP
Three years later, TinyERP was rebranded as OpenERP to further emphasize its open-source capability.
+100 Employees
Under Fabien Pinckaers’ leadership, OpenERP began to develop rapidly and grew into a company with more than 100 employees just five years after it was founded.
In 2013, the company received a Deloitte award for being the fastest-growing company in Belgium, with a 1549% growth over five years.
Also, in 2013, Odoo Community Association, a non-profit organization, was founded to promote the spread of Odoo and support the collaborative development of Odoo functions.

In 2014, OpenERP pushed the boundaries of traditional ERP players and the company changed its name to Odoo - allowing the company to grow in any direction without restrictions.
Top 5000 fastest growing company
Because of the rapid growth in the company, Magazine Inc. placed Odoo among the top 5000 fastest-growing companies in Europe in 2015. All these achievements helped grow Odoo's fame.
From then on, Odoo S.A. changed its business model from a pure service company to a software distribution and SaaS business.
3rd Bossie Award
After OpenERP changed its name to Odoo in 2014, the company won the BOSSIE Awards three years in a row: 2014, 2015 and 2016.
$90 million investment
In 2019, the company raised a $90 million investment by Global growth equity investor Summit Partners.

In 2021, Odoo products were used by more than 5 million customers.
New Pricing Model
In 2022, Odoo released its version Odoo 16, together with a new pricing model.
Today
In 2024, Odoo released its newest version Odoo 18, together with a completely new UX-Design.
Changing the business model to SaaS allowed the Odoo software to be deployed and licensed to be accessible online via subscription rather than purchased and installed on individual computers. Odoo's software distribution focuses on customer-specific programming, support and other services in cooperation with an active global community and a network of over 5000 official partners and integrators such as OBS Solutions. According to its own information, Odoo has over 12 million users worldwide.
The company and the Odoo software have received several awards. As OpenERP, Odoo received the Trends Gazelle, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award and InfoWorld's BOSSIE Award 2013.
